About Ampang

Properties for Sale in Ampang

Ampang is fondly nicknamed as the ‘Korean Town’ due to the small Korean population that inhabits this city. It is a place where you can indulge in good food served by Koreans who live here. However, there is more to this township than just that.

Not to be confused with Ampang Jaya, which falls under the territory of Selangor, Ampang itself is situated under the territory of Kuala Lumpur. The name of the township originates from the Malay word that translates to “dam,” referring to how it used to be filled with miners’ dams. It was one of the first areas in Klang Valley that was opened for tin mining in the 1850s.

As it is a central location near all the foreign embassies, it draws in many expats who work in Malaysia for the long-term. This is the reason why properties in Ampang see a gradual increase in value over the years. Also situated within this township is Taman Tun Abdul Razak, one of the most affluent residential areas in Kuala Lumpur.

Dig into a mouth-watering range of cuisines right outside the bustling Golden Triangle district in Kuala Lumpur. Aside from authentic Korean dishes, there are plenty of excellent food options here ranging from the famous Ampang Yong Tau Foo, chicken rice, burgers, desserts and Indonesian cuisine! For shopping, you can visit the Great Eastern Mall, Ampang Point and City Square. You can also find more popular restaurants and nightclubs along the main road.

If you feel like getting closer to nature, step into the Ampang Recreational Forest, also known as Bukit Belacan. The forests within contain rich wildlife and natural rivers, making it the perfect outdoor escapade for groups.

The town is highly accessible via roads and major highways such as the Ampang Road, Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Ulu Kelang and the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH). Despite having good connectivity, the city centre’s high density population causes a struggle with daily traffic congestion for Ampang residents. This however seems to be an arguably good trade for such a wealthy township.

Ampang serves as an amazing place to stay for upper class families who enjoy a balanced lifestyle near the city centre with an abundance of good food everywhere.
