Taman Mewah is a low-cost apartment complex located in Batu Maung, Penang. The residence is made up of a few separate blocks, each 5 storeys tall. Units at Taman Mewah are about 460 sf in size, which is rather small. Subsale prices have also gone way beyond its initial affordable concept, now costing at least RM63,000 on the market. Rental is also on the higher side considering its size, at a monthly RM550. Facilities are also only limited to parking lots within its compound while elevator and security services are also not provided. However, there are perimeter fencing around the property, though it is not much of a deterrence to crime. Amenities in the surroundings of Taman Mewah are mostly eateries and sundry shops. There are several commercial hubs a short distance away along the main road of Jalan Batu Maung, where more varieties of restaurants and eateries can be found, as well as convenience stores and banks. Schools in the area include SK Permatang Damar Laut, and SK Batu Maung. Taman Mewah is located just off Jalan Batu Maung, which is the main road running through the town of Batu Maung. The Batu Maung Highway and the Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway are also within easy access, enabling a few minutes’ drive to reach the second Penang bridge from Taman Mewah. Bayan Lepas and the first Penang bridge are also around 10 minutes away. Georgetown on the other hand, is about 20 minutes away via the Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway or Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah.
