Taman Perwira Indah is a neighbourhood comprising a mix of residential and commercial titles located in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. The neighbourhood is an interesting one, with most of the shop lots housing automotive repair and car accessories shops. The homes are also a combination of mid-range terraces and low-cost apartments. In general, there are single-storey and double-storey terrace homes which appear well-kept, while many of the newer, 3-storey terraces seem rather run-down. Most of these 3-storey homes do not seem to have been well-built, with paint finishings already worn-off, though the homes are relatively recent. The porches, though sizeable, only have cement flooring which is difficult to maintain. The apartment complex seems to be the most-recently completed, with shop lots making up the ground floor of the 4-storey walk-up apartment residence. A majority of the shops remain empty, though a mini market has been opened. Given that the shop lots within Taman Perwira Indah are occupied by automotive businesses, amenities will require a short walk out to the main road of Jalan Permatang Tinggi. Fortunately, commercial developments line the road, where eateries, restaurants, mini markets, and more can be found. There are also schools just on the opposite side of the road, namely SJK Permatang Tinggi, SJK (C) Permatang Tinggi and SJK (T) Permatang Tinggi. More conveniences like banks and petrol stations can be found down the road or in the town of Simpang Ampat nearby. Jalan Permatang Tinggi is the main route which enables accessibility to and from Taman Perwira Indah to the Simpang Ampat town down south, as well as Juru and Bukit Mertajam northwards. The North-South Expressway (NSE) is also directly accessible via that road, with the Bukit Tambun Utara toll plaza being just about 15 minutes from the neighbourhood. Once on the NSE, the second Penang bridge takes just 5 minutes to reach.
