Taman Sukun is a residential neighbourhood located in Bukit Minyak, Penang. Established years ago, the development consists of terrace homes which were built over different periods of time. The neighbourhood is rather densely occupied, with few units left unoccupied. There are at least 2 different types of single-storey units as well as 2 to 3 other types of double-storey ones, with built-up spaces beginning from 1,098 sf. All units within the neighbourhood is freehold, with those available on the subsale market priced from RM158,000 while rental is about RM800 per month. Taman Sukun is not gated nor guarded, which is typical of older matured neighbourhoods. Despite the lack of facilities, the development enjoys the convenience of being situated close to a commercial hub and more importantly, the AEON Bukit Mertajam as well as a Tesco hypermarket. Located just off Jalan Permatang Tinggi, Taman Sukun is a few minutes’ drive to the town of Bukit Minyak, while the Bukit Mertajam town centre is about 20 minutes away. Simpang Ampat is located under 10 minutes away in the opposite direction. The North-South Expressway (NSE) is also accessible from the neighbourhood, where the Juru toll plaza of the NSE is just a quick drive away.
