Taman Segar is a neighbourhood situated off Jalan Bagan Lalang in Butterworth, Penang. Properties in the neighbourhood include bungalows, semi-detached houses and terrace houses. Quite a number of years have passed since the neighbourhood was formed, so many houses have undergone renovations, resulting in diverse facades. As Taman Segar is located in a matured neighbourhood, there is no shortage of urban amenities available in the surroundings. For instance, near to and across Jalan Bagan Lalang, there are rows of shop lots with eateries and grocery stores, among other businesses. Other than that, there are several schools around the neighbourhood, such as SMJK Chung Ling Butterworth, SMK Mak Mandin and SMK Bagan Jaya. Transport-wise, it is rather convenient to travel around from Taman Segar, as it is located within a busy network of roads in Butterworth. From the neighbourhood, it is about 10km (or 15 minutes by car with normal traffic) to the transport hub of Penang Sentral, which is the terminal for buses, trains and ferries. The Penang Bridge is just an additional 1km away, allowing residents to reach it in less than 20 minutes. Also, there are two bus stops within a 5-minute walk from the neighbourhood, positioned along Tingkat Mak Mandin 3, where the Rapid Penang bus 605 passes through to and fro from Penang Sentral, Butterworth, and Permatang Tok Gelam in Penaga – so if one works anywhere along the bus’s route, Taman Segar is a good place to live in.
