Bayan Indah is located close to the southern tip of Penang island, within close proximity to Bayan Lepas, Batu Muang and the second Penang bridge. The rise in population and development in the area are accredited to the Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone which created a boom in employment opportunities as international and local businesses set up factories and run operations there. This has caused an influx of population from other parts of Penang to the areas surrounding the free trade zone, pushing the demand for housing and amenities in those once quiet neighbourhoods.
