About Atria

Properties for Sale in Atria

Alternatively known as Taman Alam Suria and often confused with the adjacent, newer development of Alam Suria Enclave by IJM, in the present age of branded townships, Atria Alam Suria stands out as a bit of a fortunate oddity. Located at the northernmost tip of Bandar Puncak Alam, Atria Alam Suria is a housing estate consisting of spacious 1,400 to 1,720 sf terrace houses and a few dozen semi-detached homes. Built from around 2012 and completed in 2014, the terraced homes of Atria Alam Suria sit on relatively sizable 20’ x 70’ lots. While the rest of South-East Asia was experiencing a period that came to be known as the Asian financial crisis of 1997, development in the Klang Valley was still progressing rapidly. One of the more ambitious long-shots of the time was the far-flung township of Puncak Alam, a mammoth undertaking initially tabled to fill the space between present-day Setia Alam and Bandar Tasik Puteri – an area amounting to 57 square kilometres. To illustrate the boldness and scale of this undertaking, it is worth noting that another contemporary development of comparable size was the administrative capital of Putrajaya and adjoining Cyberjaya, which amounted to a total of 52 square kilometres. However, given its relatively less lofty status as a residential township, Puncak Alam has not enjoyed the same attention or pace of development as Putrajaya and Cyberjaya until recently. Groundwork in Puncak Alam’s Section 1 initially began in small patches, undertaken between 1998 and 1999 by Bukit Cerakah Development Sdn. Bhd., before Puncak Alam Housing Sdn. Bhd. took over as the principal developer in 2001. Over time, other developers with more familiar names came along and picked up vast swathes of the area initially designated for development within the township of Puncak Alam, ultimately infusing the area with the present wide range of housing configurations and styles. Most of the area surrounding the neighbourhood of Atria Alam Suria now falls within the confines of IJM’s Shah Alam 2, a more recent and visible development – with Atria Alam Suria residents getting the additional benefit of IJM’s concerted efforts in building a self-sustaining sub-township around them, in addition to scenic bodies of water, wide stretches of greenery, and generous bicycle paths lining the sides of quiet, winding roads. Beyond IJM’s own landscaping efforts, Atria Alam Suria is surrounded by vast, unbroken stretches of greenery in the hills to the north, in addition to around 35 acres of natural and man-made bodies of water located within short walks of just half a kilometre. Adding to the attractiveness of the area for nature-loving residents, the hiking trails of Puncak Bukit Cherakah can be reached with a mere 700-metre walk through IJM’s Central Park. Being situated a considerable distance from Kuala Lumpur, around 50 kilometres by road, Atria Alam Suria is closer to the peninsula’s western coastline and is likely more appropriate for outdoorsy families seeking a suburban home in rural surroundings. Student housing is also a viable use for homes in Atria Alam Suria, given the fact that over 20,000 people frequent the MARA Institute of Technology (UiTM) Puncak Alam campus, located a relatively short 11-kilometre drive away.
