About Genting Highlands

Pahang

Genting Highlands is one of the most popular tourist attraction in Malaysia, bringing in large amounts of revenue to the country. In the hot and humid Malaysian climate where any form of cold weather is welcomed, Genting Highlands always remains at an average cool temperature of 17˚ celsius. Genting Highlands was first established in 1965 by the business tycoon Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong who came from humble beginnings. Fighting his way up, Genting Highlands was built and is the first place in Malaysia to be given gambling license. Taking advantage of the beatific views afforded at the top of the hill, an amusement park was also built. Genting Highlands in fact touts the first of many things in Malaysia, including the recognition of having the ‘World’s Fastest Mono Cable Car System’ and the ‘Longest Cable Car in Malaysia’. Genting Highlands will also feature the first 20th Century Fox World theme park in Asia, which the old Genting Outdoor Theme Park was remade to be. Investing in Genting Highlands has become a fad as rooms are always unavailable during peak seasons and visitors are willing to pay astronomical prices for any available room regardless of its state of cleanliness or otherwise. Land is however very much limited in this area, and personal homes are even more coveted. With the development of the new 20th Century Fox World theme park, property investors are even more on the lookout for good property deals and new property developments close to Genting Highlands.
