About Kampar

Properties for Sale in Kampar

Kampar is a district in Perak with a rich historical background, and a place with a lot to look forward to. Founded in 1887, the area was a hotspot for tin-mining, due to its location within Kinta Valley. Just like Ipoh, the district boomed due to its mining activities, causing a rise in settlement. Kampar sits between Teluk Intan and Batu Gajah, and also next to some small tourist attractions. Some of the said attractions are also in Kampar itself.

Now that tin-mining is almost non-existent within the area, the old mining sites have become natural lakes. With nature taking its course, these areas have become fishing sites, filled with a variety of fresh-water wildlife, attracting local and non-local anglers. The abundance of Kampar's fresh-water wildlife also contributed to Tanjung Tualang's fame in prawn dishes.

Kampar has a wide variety of delicious food and attraction hotspots, mostly of Chinese descent due to the vast majority of this ethnicity within the area. Visitors will definitely be associated with the famous Kampar fried fish balls, while curry chicken bread is also one of their well-known delicacies. Other renown foods within the district are such as the Kampar rice noodle roll (commonly known as 'Chee Cheong Fun'), and chicken biscuits.

Kampar is now considered a sub-urban area, with some areas still looking as if time never went by. However, it is equipped with basic amenities, such as hospitals, post offices, restaurants, banks, convenience stores, and mini marts. The Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) campus is also located here, which also generates revenue for investors in the district. The Kinta Tin Mine Museum is also located within the district, where tourists can go to. Other tourists attractions such as the Sungai Salu Rainforest and Tempurung Cave are also just a stone’s throw away.

The Kampar district can be reached via North-South Highway (NSE). The North-South Highway also makes journey to other districts in Perak and the other states much more convenient.
