Sentul was a former railway hub that evolved into one of the top sought-after places for new developments. During World War II, Sentul was a target for attack because two railways here were owned by the Japanese Occupation. After the destruction of the railways, the Japanese Occupation in Malaysia ended. In 2002, YTL Land and Development took over to revitalise the area with the Sentul Masterplan that divides it into Sentul East and Sentul West.
