Taman Alma Jaya covers approximately 107.9 acres land in Bukit Mertajam, Central Seberang Perai, mainland Penang. Found in this place are several clusters of completed industrial and commercial shoplots, schools, places of worship and residential homes. Residential units at Taman Alma Jaya are mostly single and double-storey terraces with built-up areas of 800 sf onwards. One notable residence is called Taman Alma Jaya Villa, also reviewed here on PropSocial, which is the only gated and guarded neighbourhood with 2-storey bungalows within Taman Alma Jaya.

On the west of Taman Alma Jaya is Jalan Rozhan. Facing Jalan Rozhan is Sekolah Alma Jaya with a large football field between an industrial cluster of shop lots to the north and commerical ones to the south. A short drive south on Jalan Rozhan away from the school and two clusters of shoplots takes you by a series Taman Alma Jaya single-storey terraces located on a parallel road.

On the south of Taman Alma Jaya, also on Jalan Rozhan, is the Bukit Mertajam Aeon Mall. Perhaps this mall with its assorted amenities draws away tenants from setting up shop at the abandoned commercial complex to the north-west of Taman Alma Jaya, across Jalan Rozhan facing the industrial shop lots of Taman Alma Jaya.

A 30-minute drive south takes you to the Bukit Tambun Toll entrance of the North-South Expressway (NSE) from Taman Alma Jaya and another 17-minute drive after the Bukit Tambun Toll to Bayan Lepas, Penang island, via Sultan Abdul Halim Muadazam Shah Bridge or Penang Second Bridge. To drive to Penang island from Taman Alma Jaya using the first Penang Bridge will take about 30 to 35-minutes depending on traffic conditions.
