Taman Sri Nibong started as a rural area in Sungai Nibong, Penang. Over the years, it has developed into a 109-acre residential and commercial area with a growing population of over 6,000 occupants, and is also known as the largest housing estate in Penang. Properties here are built on prime freehold land, comprising low-cost apartments, apartments, landed units such as 1- and 2-storey terrace houses and semi-detached houses, as well as retail lots.
The Sungai Nibong town in Bayan Lepas is where the main bus terminal of Penang is located. Also within a short distance from Taman Sri Nibong there are many bustling commercial districts, where residents can find a wide range of F&B, shopping and entertainment outlets, for example the Super Tanker Market and Food Court, Tesco Extra, Sunshine Square and Queensbay Mall.
Schools near Taman Sri Nibong are also easy to come by, such as Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), SJK (C) Kwang Hwa, SRJK (C) Shih Chung, SMK Sungai Nibong, SMJK Phor Tay and SRK Sungai Nibong, while the nearest hospital is the Pantai Hospital Penang, which can be reached via a 10-minute drive. Getting out of and into the neighbourhood is not difficult too, with the connection to Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway located just several minutes away and multiple buses passing through the area.
Due to its strategic position almost midway along the eastern side of Penang, those living in Taman Sri Nibong will also find its proximity to many places in the northeast and southeast of Penang extremely appealing.
These locations include industrial zones (Penang Cybercity, Bayan Lepas Industrial Park, Kristal Point Corporate Park), important infrastructures (Second Penang Bridge, Penang Bridge, Penang International Airport) and other matured townships like Bukit Jambul, Batu Maung and Gelugor.
All in all, while Taman Sri Nibong might not have the newer, shinier properties of other townships, its extensive choices of nearby amenities, well-thought-out planning and good connectivity to the rest of the island (not to mention the mainland too) make it a good base for living in Penang.
