The Bayu is an apartment located close to the main road of Jalan Tanjung Tokong in Tanjung Tokong, Penang. Completed in 2008, the freehold property is just 5 storeys tall, but has about 216 units, giving it a high average of over 40 units per floor. However, for residents who do not mind living in a high-density environment, The Bayu offers a secure and well-maintained living place near to the state capital of Penang.

The residential units range from over 700 sf to 1,400 sf, and have 2 bathrooms and at least 3 bedrooms. Despite the relatively affordable prices of its units (compared to other properties in the sought-after area of Tanjung Tokong), The Bayu provides several facilities for its residents like a half-basketball court, landscaped garden, lifts, gym and barbecue area.

Location-wise, The Bayu is surrounded by many retail and office complexes, such as the Island Plaza, Precinct 10, Prima Tanjung Penang. Seri Tanjung Pinang is less than 2km away, where residents can find the Penang Performing Arts Centre and many upscale fashion, beauty, food and beverage outlets at the Straits Quay seafront retail marina. Gurney Drive and the shopping malls of Gurney Paragon and Gurney Plaza are also about 3km from The Bayu by car.

However, The Bayu’s accessible location means that traffic in the area can get a little heavy at times, a situation that is somewhat mitigated by some motorists opting for the inland Jalan Mount Erskine. Residents of The Bayu will also be able to catch buses like 101, 102, 103 and 104, which travel to a wide range of places like Tanjung Bungah, Teluk Bahang, the Georgetown jetty and Bayan Lepas, as well as many other towns and neighbourhoods in between.

Nearby schools include SJK (C) Hun Bin in Tanjung Tokong, the Dalat International School and SMK Tanjong Bunga in Tanjung Bungah, in addition to the Phor Tay Private High School, SK St. Xavier Cawangan, SMK (P) St. George, SMK Westlands and SMK Padang Polo in Georgetown.

Medical facilities are also easily available, in the form of the Penang General Hospital, Adventist Medical Centre, Penang Adventist Hospital and Gleneagles Penang Medical Center, all situated in Georgetown.
