Properties for Sale in Kepong

Kepong is a matured neighbourhood, with 2 large parks, is well connected via public transport routes and highways, and is nestled between KL and PJ.

It’s name come from the Malay word which means “surround” as the area is surrounded by mountain ranges. Kepong is a large town, located close to the city centre of Kuala Lumpur, boasting a wide range of residences. Depending on which area you choose to visit, there can be either low-cost flats, mid-range terrace houses or high end gated and guarded residences. Property prices in Kepong has remained relatively stable over the years, with the median price being lower than other suburbs in the greater KL area. Property investors would have enjoyed the spillover effect from the Desa ParkCity development in the last few years. Newer developments in Kepong have also seen the advantages from multi-generational Kepong families wishing to remain in the neighbourhood.

The gated and guarded residences are generally newer builds and are located further out on the fringes of Kepong such as Bandar Menjalara( a relatively new township nearby), while the affordable homes are concentrated in the heart of Kepong around Jinjang Utara (North Jinjang) and Jinjang Selatan (South Jinjang).

Kepong is a great hub for home improvement shopping with many stores for tiling, woodwork, hardware, and machinery. Many service contractors from air conditioning service to plumbers are in the area too. This makes it a highly convenient and enviable location for bargain hunters.

For nature lovers, the Forest Reserve Institute of Malaysia (FRIM) is in the area. Perfect for waterfalls, hiking, taking a walk or having a picnic under the canopy of trees, FRIM is perfect for all fitness levels. For other options, one can also visit Kepong Metropolitan Park, one of the largest parks in KL and is also famous for the number of people who come to fly their kites, and Taman Botani Kepong.

Kepong is well connected, with many options for entry and exit roads. Main roads and highways like the MRR2 and Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP) connect Kepong to other areas such as Subang Jaya, Cheras, and Ampang. As for public transportation, Kepong is served by the KTM komuter line. The upcoming MRT 2 Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) will make Kepong even more accessible, and possibly drive property prices upwards.
