Sungai Buloh, Selangor
Named after Malaysia’s first prime minister and located within Sungai Buloh is the township of Bukit Rahman Putra, which was established in 1991 in the hands of Land & General Sdn Bhd.
Located within a short driving distance of the prestigious neighbourhoods of Valencia and Sierramas, Bukit Rahman Putra is targeted towards those of the upper income bracket with the homes in Bukit Rahman Putra ranging from condominiums to bungalows.
This beautifully healthy green lung located within mere minutes of the city centre further attracts buyers with its 18-hole golf course, as well as its clubhouse by the name of Rahman Putra Golf and Country Club.
In the earlier months of 2014, it was reported that three parcels of land was sold to the Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd (MRCB) for RM83 million, for the purpose of developing them into residential and commercial properties worth RM559.1 million. While the residential parcel is expected to commence by the first quarter of 2015, the commercial development is expected to follow a year later.
Despite Bukit Rahman Putra being a healthy green lung, it is purported that there are many industrial developments surrounding the area which pollute the air in the surrounding area, and as of 2011, a resident complained about the smell of toxic chemicals and burning plastic invading their home during the night.
