Bandar Menjalara is a major township in Kuala Lumpur, located between Kepong and Bandar Sri Damansara, adjacent to Taman Bukit Maluri. The township got its name as a form of dedication to the mother of the first Malaysian Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj. Her name was Paduka Seri Cik Menjalara.

Being a major township, the town is catapulting itself into residential gold status with up-and-coming housing projects from high-rise apartments and condominiums to landed properties.

Bandar Menjalara offers avenues that cater to the luxurious needs of a modern resident. From basic amenities like a business centre, a sports centre, and a mosque to retail havens like an IKEA, Tesco, and the Mutiara Damansara Shopping Complex, Bandar Menjalara has it all. It is also a stone’s throw away from other major townships in KL, such as Desa Park City, Mont Kiara, and Damansara Perdana.

With such an exquisite status like that of Bandar Menjalara, residents can enjoy the ease of accessibility via various highways and expressways to get in and out of the township. There is also the option of using public transportation via the KTM station which is about five minutes away and numerous buses to the township.

However, during rush hours, traffic congestion becomes a problem for the residents of Bandar Menjalara when motorists take to the highways after office hours. The MRR2 and LDP are known for their slow traffic crawls at any time after 5pm.

Consumer Price Index

This is a representation of Kuala Lumpur Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the year of 2011 - 2015

Did you know?

A consumer price index (CPI) measures changes in the price level of a market basket of consumer goods and services purchased by households. (Wikipedia)

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) line shows an increment in prices of essential goods on a yearly basis, while the Percentage Changes line shows the level of changes in price increments over the years. For example, a dip in the CPI line may indicate a low level of price increment as compared to the previous year while a surge in CPI line shows a high level of price increment as compared to the previous year.

The above graph shows 1.363% of price changes in essential goods such as rice, meat and tobacco between the years 2011 and 2012, while increasing in difference to 1.633% in 2013. Prices of essential goods then increasing to 3.308% in the year 2014 while surging by 3.019% in 2015.

While the prices of essential goods have shown a variation in the Percentage Changes, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) on the other hand indicates a reality of ever increasing prices in essential goods with increments between the years 2011 - 2015 at 102.7 in 2011, 104.1 in 2012, 105.8 in 2013, 109.3 in 2014, 112.6 in 2015.

I live near Golden Hill, traffic is okay. After Desa Park City's establishment, traffic flow is slightly more but still fine. Eateries aplenty.
