Empire Shopping Gallery is a neighbourhood mall which predominantly caters to those living in Subang, Sunway and Glenmarie.
Of course, you'll see a lot of people from other neighbourhoods making a trip there to Jibby & Co, which is heavily instagrammed. I
... See More ain't hater of that place, in fact their food quality is consistent but the portion vs price and queue are put-offs. It's just overrated.
It's a cosy mall for 2-3 hours of shopping / catch ups and kudos to ESG for:-
1. An array of F&B selections
2. Beefing up the fashion offerings. Uniqlo opened last year and Esprit is opening soon. What next?
3. Creating a safer shopping environment where you see more quality and civilised shoppers as compared to the neighbouring malls. You could also see security guards patron frequently. Though the explosion incident was unavoidable, but they definitely learnt their lesson on safety. In fact, this should be the priority of all mall operators.
Areas for improvement:-
1. Lack of car park. Try going there during lunch hours on weekdays. Sometimes you will have to go a few rounds. That's one big problem for those integrated development without proper planning
2. Ramp to and fro car park. First timers would know what I mean. Or could you recall the first time driving into the mall's car park?
3. Jaya Grocer's ventilation sucks. Going in just to get a crate of eggs will make u stink. What more if you're doing serious grocery shopping or dining at Fresco. I'll suggest going there before you shower ;)
4. Maybe due to the size of the mall, there is not enough interesting marketing / promotional activities. That said it's good enough to sustain for its current shoppers, could be better though.
