Standing just one kilometre (km) from the North-South Expressway (E1) exit to Nilai (Exit 215), in Negeri Sembilan, the 8-acre Youth City consists of four interconnected residential towers as part of the surrounding 50-acre Vision City, a debut mixed development by GD Holdings with the aim of becoming the future hub for the university town of Nilai.
Nilai gained a reputation as a centre of education when Manipal University, Nilai University, and INTI International University established their sprawling campuses in the late 1990s. However, with distances of around 5km between institutions, similar distances to commercial areas, and on-campus housing overflowing into low-lying residential neighbourhoods, being a student in Nilai typically meant having to take long walks, own a car, or rely on public transport.
Just 1km from the town’s central roundabout, between Nilai’s main roads, Persiaran Pusat Bandar and Persiaran Utama, Vision City creates an additional 10 million sf of built-up area that will become South East Asia’s largest convention centre, the campus of another educational institution, a theme park, the nation’s largest night market (the 15-acre Gembox), hotels to accommodate tourists, shops, offices – and the luxurious residential high-rise towers of Youth City.
The four residential towers of Youth City (A, B, C & D) enclose a recreational deck consisting of pools, gazebos, lawns, and fenced ball courts – affording each tower with unique vistas. While the interior units of each tower overlook the recreational deck, the outer units in Tower A come with views overlooking Nilai’s central roundabouts; Tower B, with a vantage point over the educational hub of Vision City; Tower C, overlooking the rooftop gardens of the mall; and Tower D overlooking the theme park.
The serviced apartments at the Youth City towers range in size from 460 to 1,008 sf and are available in studio and two or three-bedroom configurations. Shared apartments in two or three-bedroom configurations tend to be the standard in student housing and the largest of these have traded hands at median prices of between RM440 to RM490 psf – while the studio configuration remains the more luxurious option at a median price of around RM570 psf.
