Kampung Cheras Baru comprises mostly of landed properties and factories, both of which are spaciously designed and are situated close to many amenities.
In June 2013, there were complaints from residents on SYABAS's poor handling of water disruptions in the area. According to the residents, the water tankers’ schedules were poorly managed as they refused to enter high rise compounds due to the drivers’ difficulties in manoeuvring their vehicles and that the tankers came at the wrong times of the days, leaving senior citizens to carry the buckets on their own.
