Puncak Setiawangsa is a housing area in Wangsa Maju that caters to wealthy upper-class Malaysians. Fondly known as the Hollywood Hills of Kuala Lumpur, the homes in Puncak Setiawangsa are built with generous amounts of space with a wide front porch for the convenience of its residents.
Tenancy in Puncak Setiawangsa is consistent with residents moving in and out as it is a popular place for expatriates. The peace of Puncak Setiawangsa shattered when a massive landslide occurred in 2012 which caused part of the concrete embankment to collapse and bury the only access road from Taman Puncak Setiawangsa.
No casualties were reported but two houses were torn down to make way for a buffer zone between the slope and the collapsed embankment. Plans to build a new lookout point at the site of the landslide began in April 2014 and is expected to be completed by July 2015. The construction will be done concurrently with the slope rectification.
