Desa Cantik in Air Itam Penang, is a very low density apartment complex. This freehold building only has 4 storeys and has been in the market for quite a number of years.

Every unit in the property is 700 sf in built-up size, which is quite tight. Facilities provided in the building are lacking with only a covered paring lot provided. The building does not even have an elevator service. The only security provided is also only a sliding front gate without any guards.

However, there is a decent number of shops around the area where banks, clinics, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants can be found. Residents can also venture out to try the famous Ayer Itam Assam Laksa which is very nearby. Education-wise there are a number of schools in the vicinity, like SJK(C) Kong Min Pusat, Sekolah Kebangsaan Padang Tembak, Chung Ling Private High School, SMKJ(C) Chung Ling, SMK Teknik Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra, and many more.

Those seeking outlets for leisure activities can go to the Penang Turf Club, which is very close by, and the the Sunshine Farlim Shopping Mall. Georgetown is just 15 minutes away while tourist attraction spots like the Penang Hill, Kek Lok Si Temple, and Farlim Night Market are much closer at only 2 minutes away. On top of that the Bats Cave Temple is also just a stone’s throw away.

The location itself is quite secluded. Near-the-hills would be the more appropriate designation. However, accessibility is good with the property being easily reachable through Jalan Air Itam. Traffic congestion is not really an issue as the property is located in a suburban neighbourhood.

Desa Cantik has long passed its prime. Now the property is in need of some touching up. But apart form that, those working nearby may opt for this property. From an investment standpoint, it is not very appealing given its rather secluded location and aged structure.
