Bandar Baru Air Putih in Balik Pulau, Penang is a charming development of recently-completed residences and commercial shop lots. Residential properties comprise of an apartment, terraces, semi-detached homes and commercial shop lots.

The freehold landed homes are two or three storeys in height, with the 2-storey units designed in a pleasant country style while the 3-storey terraces are slightly more contemporary. The apartment complex is several years old but appears to have been well maintained. Built-up areas of the homes begin from around 1,400 sf with subsale prices of at least RM560,000.

The neighbourhood of Bandar Baru Air Putih is secured by 24-hour security, despite the lack of facilities. Amenities will be within easy reach of the homes as more and more businesses open up at the double-storey commercial shop lots within the township. Schools in the area include the Prince of Wales Island International School. However, to find supermarkets and shopping malls, residents would have to take a drive to the town of Bayan Baru about 20 minutes away.

In terms of accessibility, Jalan Tanjung Bungah connects Bandar Baru Air Putih to the town of Balik Pulau, where other amenities like mini markets and eateries can be found. Bayan Lepas is about 20 minutes’ drive away while Air Itam and Georgetown are a little over 30 minutes’ journey from the township.

Bandar Baru Air Itam would be a nice place to settle down and raise a family or retire to, given its surrounding greenery and serenity away from the city. However, it is best to note that the journey to Bayan Lepas and the city centre is quite a distance. Hence, living in the township may only appeal to those who do not mind the drive, especially if it has to be done on a daily basis. But if one does not mind, the homes at Bandar Baru Air Itam are indeed a comfortable and spacious escape to go home to.
