Camellia Residences is a freehold residential development located in Bandar Sungai Long, not to be confused with a similarly named gated and guarded development of landed homes in Semenyih. This particular apartment will appeal to investors, because its walking distance proximity to the UTAR or Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman makes it suitable as student accommodation.
The 244 units, spread over 14 storeys in a single block, are about 1,000 sf and served by three lifts and one service lift. Each comes with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a compact kitchen and balcony. As such, each unit is able to comfortably house five to six students. The interior layout is straightforward, with the bedrooms lined along one side of the unit, and the living, dining and kitchen on the other.
Marketed as a mid-range residential development, facilities are minimal, including swimming pools for adults and children, a playground, multipurpose hall, gymnasium, as well as parking lots occupying the lower levels of the apartment. Nevertheless, as the Camellia Residences is less than 1.5km from the university, there are hordes of eateries around, which will suit dwellers who eat out often.
Within a short walking distance from the apartment there is also a commercial hub. Here, one can get daily necessities from mini marts and convenience stores, or access banks (Maybank and Hong Leong), clinics, laundromats, pharmacies or even the Bandar Sungai Long Police Station. Slightly further away in Bandar Mahkota Cheras, there is yet another commercial centre with an AEON mall, and more choices of food, fashion outlets and banks.
Due to the compact size and convenient location of the Camellia Residences, it can also be considered as a home for young professionals working in the surrounding areas like Cheras, Kajang or even Seri Kembangan. There are several highways nearby the apartment, such as the Kajang Bypass, Kajang Dispersal Link Expressway (SILK) and the Cheras-Kajang Expressway or Grand Saga Expressway.
To complement the recreational facilities in the apartment, there is the Sungai Long Golf & Country Club and the Impian Golf & Country Club. The former has the prestigious status of being the first Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course in Malaysia, while the latter, situated amidst a 142-acre rainforest, is recognized as one of the top golf courses in the country.
