UPtown 8 is a corporate office tower located in Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya. Developed by See Hoy Chan Group Sdn. Bhd., the building will have 31-storeys, and is integrated with The Starling Mall, Somerset Damansara Uptown, as well as the Uptown residences.
The corporate office units will have high-ceiling layouts, which will see proper ventilation and comfort for its tenants. The building is also aiming for a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification, prompting a green building inside and out. Some of the elements are included are such as high energy-efficient central “chillers” for the air-conditioning units, solar panels, as well as carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide sensors for better indoor air quality control. The lifts inside the building have a regenerative driver installed to ensure more energy is saved.
UPtown 8, placed in the heart of the township, is in a very strategic location, especially with the amount of amenities that surrounds the building. Built as a second phase to the first commercial area, tenants will be able to enjoy amenities from both the old and new shops. The Starling Mall will be the closest shopping centre as it is connected to the development, where sources of food and entertainment, as well as a place to buy daily necessities can be found.
Other than that, the older commercial outlets surrounding UPtown 8 house a number of restaurants that are particularly famous within the Klang Valley, such as Rekindle, and Village Park Nasi Lemak. Apart from that, there are various banks, convenience stores, restaurants and clinics within walking distance from the office tower. It is also a short drive away from Bandar Utama, which houses 1 Utama Shopping Centre, and Mutiara Damansara, where other shopping malls such as IKEA, Ikano Power Centre and The Curve are located.
UPtown 8 can be easily reached via the Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP), which also connects tenants to other townships such as SS2, Kelana Jaya, Ara Damansara and Kota Damansara. Traffic may seem like a big problem, with that area being a notorious site for rush hour traffic jams. However, there are other alternatives of transportation available, namely the Kelana Jaya and Lembah Subang LRT stations, as well as the TTDI and Bandar Utama MRT stations.
