About Taman Cempaka

Properties for Rent in Taman Cempaka

Taman Cempaka is a mature 188-acre residential neighbourhood of freehold landed homes located between the city of Ipoh and the dramatic cliffs surrounding Gua Tambun, a Neolithic rock art site where horses have been known to roam. Situated within short driving distances of Ipoh’s Outer Ring Road (A13), Federal Route 1, and the North-South Expressway (E1), trips from Taman Cempaka to the city centre can be made in as little as 10 minutes by car, while Ipoh’s northern and southern limits can be reached in as little as 20 minutes. Although the built landscape of Ipoh stretches 10km north and south from its centre, the city’s expansion has been geographically restrained on the east and west by the foothills of the Titiwangsa Range and forest reserves of Ulu Kinta and Papan. As a result, Taman Cempaka is one of the few neighbourhoods with the coveted combination of a picturesque mountain backdrop and a location close to the city centre. Despite being locked inside Ipoh’s limits by mountains and forest reserves, a sizable 25 acres of Taman Cempaka, approximately 15% of the neighbourhood’s area, is devoted to amenities in the form of double-storey shops, a petrol station, a food court, a community hall, a mosque, and a school (SK Raja Chulan). On the other side of the neighbourhood’s main ring road from SK Raja Chulan and situated directly next to Taman Cempaka, is a 271-acre educational complex stretching from the edge of the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Recreational Park to the Pinji River, comprising the state office of education, universities, colleges, technical academies, in addition to multiple primary and secondary schools. While there are about 4.5 acres of fields and parklands within the neighbourhood’s limits, there is a more diverse array of recreational options located within a few kilometres of Taman Cempaka. The Perak Turf Club and the Royal Perak Golf Club are both nationally renowned, and the nearby slopes of Tambun attract hikers from around the country – with some occasionally encountering horses from the Iskandar Polo Club.
