The Holmes 2, launched in May 2017, follows the highly successful, similarly named property – both situated in Bandar Tun Razak. The first, a 41-storey leasehold condominium, was marketed mostly to first-time home buyers and families. It offered residents just a few (but important) leisure facilities like pools, a playground and a barbecue area. Like its predecessor, the sequel has a pleasing overall design, with enhanced facilities spread over three floors. Residents will be able to enjoy pools, a Jacuzzi, pavilions and relaxation decks, a gymnasium, reflexology path, multipurpose hall, sports courts and an art/fitness corner. These upgrades are, of course, reflected in the units’ prices. Yet another top priority for the developers is tight security, leading them to implement a four-tier system, which also separates visitor and resident parking. Two types of layouts are available – one with a built-up area of 943 sf, and the other with 1,104 sf. Some of the main differences include extra space for a walk-through wardrobe and a larger kitchen in the latter. Both types have 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Somewhat oddly, one cannot access the 2nd bathroom from the living areas, but has to pass through a bedroom to do so. Highways that are closest to The Holmes 2 are the Maju Expressway (MEX) and the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2), while the nearest train station, LRT Bandar Tun Razak is a 15-minute walk (or 4-minute car ride) away. Bus stations can also be found easily in the area, with two of them just outside the property. A commercial area is also within a short walking distance – you’ll even find a post office, supermarkets and mini marts, a hawker centre, and ATMs of at least two banks there. One of the nearest major shopping malls is Sunway Velocity, while the recreational park of Taman Tasik Permaisuri is just 1.5km from the property. Those who work in or around the KL city centre will appreciate that it is just 15km away. However, one thing that might deter some buyers is the property’s proximity to the Kwangtong Chinese cemetery that is about 1km away. Nevertheless, for the non-superstitious, Holmes 2 is a desirable dwelling. In fact, the development made news when an entire block was sold out during its launch, largely owing to its contemporary concept, strategic location – and without doubt, competitive prices.
