About Kluang

Properties for Rent in Kluang

Kluang, located to the east of Batu Pahat and the northwest of Kulai, is a district in Johor. Established in 1915, it used to be the Johor state’s administrative capital. Therefore, there are many historical structures in the town like the Kluang Railway Station, Hotel Merdeka, and Taman Merdeka Kluang. Newer attractions include Kluang Street Art, UK Farm and Zenxin Organic Park.

The town centre, bordered by Federal Route 172 (also known as the Kluang Inner Ring Road), is largely commercialised, while industrial facilities lie in the outskirts of the area. Kluang is home to a few multinational companies (MNCs) that have opened their factories here, for example Liebherr Appliances (by the Liebherr Group), Synthomer, Malaysian Mosaics (MML) and Guocera.

The main congregation place for the residents of Kluang is probably the Kluang Mall, which is situated in the geographical centre of the town. It has a good selection of retail and recreational spots, including an MBO Cinema, karaoke centre, bowling alley, and various high street fashion brand outlets, including Uniqlo, H&M and Cotton On. Food and beverage outlets also abound, ranging from international cuisine to popular cafes to fast food restaurants.

Apart from Kluang Mall, one can find several other malls, hypermarkets and supermarkets in the town, like the Kluang Parade, AEON Big Kluang, Econsave Cash & Carry, two Giant supermarkets, and a night market.

The Kluang Utama Specialist Hospital opened in the city centre in 2001, functioning as the only private hospital serving the town. There are two other hospitals in the district – the Kluang Hospital and Hospital Enche' Besar Hajjah Kalsom. For recreation, there is the Kluang Country Club, in addition to a football stadium and running track at the Majlis Perbandaran Kluang (MPK).

Petrol stations, schools – both Chinese and Malay-medium – car workshops and banks are also easily available in the town, so it’s safe to say that Kluang’s residents are well provided for where basic urban amenities are concerned.

A few main roads lead to Kluang: Jalan Batu Pahat, Jalan Mersing, Jalan Kota Tinggi-Kluang and Jalan Haji Ithnin Maarof. The Senai International Airport is about 90km away, taking slightly more than an hour to reach, while one can catch KTM Intercity trains to other parts of Peninsular Malaysia from the Kluang Railway Station.
