Taman Siakap is a neighbourhood of terrace homes located in Seberang Jaya, Penang. There are several different types of terraces which appear to have been built throughout the decades. Despite the homes being of considerable age, most appear well-kept and the neighbourhood is generally quite clean. The leasehold terraces at Taman Siakap come in single-storey and double-storey types, with at least 800 sf of built-up space. Prices of the homes begin from about RM220,000 while rental is quite affordable at around RM750 per month. There are no facilities provided to residents of Taman Siakap, typical of older neighbourhood developments. However, there is a good array of basic amenities within Taman Siakap. These include several eateries, a clinic, and even a school, SK Seberang Jaya. There is also a mosque, while residents can easily keep active with the Seberang Jaya Public Swimming Pool just nearby. More amenities can be found within proximity of Taman Siakap, such as an Aeon Big and a Carrefour hypermarket, while many other commercial hubs close by house banks, restaurants, hair saloons, pet shops and more. SMK Seberang Jaya 2 and SMK Tun Hussein Onn are other schools just a short drive of the neighbourhood. Taman Siakap enjoys ease of access given its location close to the North-South Expressway (NSE). With that, the first Penang bridge is merely 5 minutes away. The highway also connects Taman Siakap to other towns on the mainland, including Bukit Mertajam just 10 minutes’ drive away. Apart from that, the NSE also links to the Butterworth Outer Ring Road, which enables access to the town of Butterworth about 15 minutes’ journey from the neighbourhood.
