Taman Kasawari, not to be confused with Taman Kawasari that is also in Simpang Ampat, is a housing estate that can be accessed from a major road, Jalan Bukit Tambun. It is also located near the intersection between the aforementioned road and Jalan Permatang Tinggi – the Federal Route 1 running through the town. Via Jalan Permatang Tinggi, residents can easily reach the industrial zones to the north and south of the Taman Kasawari, such as the Asas Jaya and Permatang Tinggi light industrial areas. The landed residential properties here consist of terrace houses and semi-detached houses, many of which are still in a good condition despite being built some years back. Businesses that can be found in Taman Kasawari’s shop lots are mostly run by the Chinese population, such as sundry shops, traditional medical treatment centres, mini marts and restaurants. Many of these commercial properties are clustered near to the main road, where visibility is higher. As Taman Kasawari is situated in the more matured portion of Simpang Ampat, residents will have little problem getting to basic amenities in their vicinity. Within walking distance, there is a bank, sports shop, hardware store, clinic, tuition centre, sports accessories shop and eateries, while across the trunk road there are even more banks and shops. Petrol stations and Rapid Penang buses 801 and 802 also can be found along this trunk road, while the Simpang Ampat railway station is about 5 minutes away from Taman Kasawari by car. Educational facilities near the neighbourhood include the Community College of Nibong Tebal and SMK Simpang Ampat.
