Taman Teluk Kumbar is a low-cost apartment complex located in the seaside town of Teluk Kumbar, Penang. There are several blocks each 5 storeys tall, with the ground floor of each building housing shop units, where many businesses have been established to cater to the residents. The units are sized at about 463 sf, which may not be able to comfortably fit a family of more than 3 people. Taman Teluk Kumbar does not provide any facilities other than a parking lot, given its low-cost concept. There are also no elevator services nor security surveillance. Taman Teluk Kumbar apartment units are priced at an affordable RM70,000, though its initial launching price may have been even lower. Rental is also at an acceptable rate of around RM500 per month. Amenities are readily available to residents of Taman Teluk Kumbar in the shop lots just downstairs of their homes. Sundry shops, eateries, a few pharmacies and laundromats, can all be found within the grounds of the apartment. There are also schools like SK Sungai Batu, and SMK Telok Kumbar nearby. Taman Teluk Kumbar is situated just off Jalan Teluk Kumbar, about 5 minutes’ drive to Bayan Lepas and 10 minutes to Batu Maung, where the second Penang bridge is located. Georgetown and other towns north of Teluk Kumbar like Jelutong and Gelugor are also accessible via Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah and the Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway.
