Battersea Power Station was emblazoned with both the Malaysia and United Kingdom flags yesterday in homage to Malaysia Day, which fell on Monday of this week.

Malaysia Day is held on 16 September of every year to commemorate the union of the existing states of Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia) with Sabah and Sarawak, forming the federation of Malaysia on the same date in 1963.

Battersea Project Holding Company Ltd chairman Dato’ Ahmad Pardas Senin said, “In conjunction with Malaysia Day, we are proudly lighting up the iconic chimneys at Battersea Power Station in London in the colours of the Malaysian flag.

Battersea Power Station is one of the most important real estate developments abroad which exemplifies what we can accomplish at the global stage when we work together. We, the shareholders, are pleased with the huge progress we are achieving on the transformation of this heritage landmark into one of London’s newest and vibrant destinations.”

The 42-acre Battersea Power Station site is being developed over seven phases and has recently secured Apple Inc and Swedish co-working company/business members club, No 18 as its anchor tenants for its commercial site in Phase 2.
