UEM Sunrise celebrated the start of an auspicious Chinese New Year with a grand celebration at their flagship development, Kiara Bay sales gallery in Kepong. The leading developer of Malaysia brought the community together in a 2-day celebration.

Visitors were warmly welcomed at the lake entrance as well as the entrance to the sales gallery, and they were entertained with a host of activities catering to all ages. The main highlight was the acrobatic lion dance performance, where spectators were awed by the ‘prosperity lion’s’ flips and summersaults on the stilts.

Following that, everyone was entertained by the internationally acclaimed percussion group – 24 Festive Drums. Livening up the atmosphere, the group held a stunning performance of precise choreography with heart-thumping beats, providing a one-of-a-kind entertainment to visitors.

Officiating the ceremony was UEM Sunrise Managing Director and CEO Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib and Melati Ehsan Group Chairman Tan Sri Yap Suan Chee, the joint developers of the new Kiara Bay township.

Said Anwar during the event, “This Chinese New Year, we want to continue our tradition of inspiring joy and happiness to the communities around us. Celebrating each other is the core of Kiara Bay’s DNA and that is what makes us unique.”

Tan Sri Yap from Melati Ehsan commented, “We want this festival to be a place for family and friends to gather over the weekend and enjoy the festive experience while surrounded by nature.”

Visitors were also entertained by myriad of performances after the highlights, including music performances from local artists such as Axel Lee, Yingz, Ryota Katayama, and more. And set up around the park were also a crafts bazaar and food trucks for visitors to enjoy.

A special appearance by the God of Prosperity also brought much delight to visitors, as many thronged to meet the ‘Caishen Ye’.

Anwar quoted, “On behalf of our UEM Sunrise family and Melati Ehsan Group, we would like to wish everyone xin nian kuai le, jia he wan shi xing” – translating to Happy Chinese New Year and as the saying goes, ‘when a family is able to harmoniously get along, everything at home will enjoy the infinite prosperity.’”
