Tropicana Corporation Berhad’s subsidiary, Tropicana Golf & Country Resort (“TGCR”) comes together with Thai Odyssey to give back to society. The event was organised by the Tropicana Foundation, a charity branch of the Tropicana Group, with the goal of selling merchandise, raising funds and providing relief to deprived communities during the MCO period. All charity sales proceeds will be channelled to 28 chosen homes, such as orphanages, old people, and homes with special needs.

Dion Tan, Group Managing Director of Tropicana, and Din Tan, Managing Director of Thai Odyssey, echoed sentiments regarding reaching out to support the communities.

“As a community builder, it is our mission to redefine the art of living – to innovate, create and improve the life of our community. This MCO 2.0 will have more a dire effect on everyone so it is important to unite and support the underprivileged society. Our TGCR team took turns to bake over 1,600 jars of cookies and healthy snacks to sell within our neighbourhood. Profits will be channelled to 28 charity homes.” Dion explained.

“At Thai Odyssey, we are pleased to collaborate with Tropicana to spread cheer and uplift people’s spirits by contributing in this joint initiative during this festive period. This year, we put together our team of masseurs to make over 300 authentic Thai Herbal Poultices and Herbal Pouches. We are aiming to raise funds through our charity sales so that the collected funds can be used to help make the lives of the underprivileged more joyful and comfortable during such challenging times.” Din elaborated.

The charity drive started on 19 January 2021 and lasted until 10 February 2021, offering homemade treats such as cookies and nutritious nut snacks priced from RM18 to RM22 by TGCR. Thai Odyssey, at the same time, offered Herbal Pouches sold at RM15 for 10 pouches and its Herbal Poultices (prakop) were sold at RM30 per pair. They also have Thai massage vouchers for sale at RM135.70.

All proceedings from sales of these products and 20% of sales from the vouchers were donated and used to purchase food, essential supplies and other necessities for these underprivileged homes. Although online sales have ended, keen buyers can still purchase these items at the physical stores.
