In an exclusive interview with SkyWorld, we take a peek into what goes on behind the scenes of property developers during the pandemic and how they are working it to their advantage.

As the COVID-19 pandemic proceeds into its second year as of July 2021, the property market in Malaysia continues to struggle amidst full and partial lockdowns. To mitigate this, the government has re-introduced the Home Ownership Campaign that has been extended to December 2021. Property developers have also been doing their best to assist homebuyers on their property buying journey with various incentives.

SkyWorld Creates Opportunities for Home Buyers to Purchase Their First Home

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit and a full lockdown was initiated in March 2020, SkyWorld was among the first property developers in Malaysia to step up to the challenge of serving their buyers remotely.

Their swift response is in part due to their vast experience in handling massive sales at every launch, their constant innovation, and constant digitalisation. Hence once the COVID-19 pandemic hit and strict SOPs were implemented, SkyWorld was able to make the shift swiftly and effortlessly.

SkyWorld was in fact the first developer in Malaysia to facilitate the online unit booking process with their Click2Own platform. Through the Click2Own, property buyers are able to “walk” through the units in 3D from the comfort of their homes. Via this platform, property buyers get to enjoy the luxury of viewing and selecting their desired unit from the safety of their home.

Additionally, a separate application dubbed SkyWorld Connects addresses all concerns and questions swiftly, providing quick assistance to property buyers regardless of their location or time.

Though exceeding expectations, SkyWorld does not plan to stop here. With one of their Brand Pillars being Innovation along with Sky Living Experience and Value Creation, SkyWorld plans on introducing further innovations to the real estate industry going forward.

SkyWorld Cares for the Larger Community Especially During the COVID-19 Pandemic Period

The COVID-19 pandemic hit Malaysians hard, especially the daily wage earners. Many people lost their jobs or took major pay cuts, with only a minority escaping unscathed. Recognising the difficulties that were being faced by many Malaysians, SkyWorld decided to lend a hand.

Despite the pandemic, SkyWorld still continues its effort in fund raising through its #Bid4Good campaign where items showcased in previous show units were up for bid for a good cause. This charity drive has managed to raise over RM50,000 and all funds were channeled to the underprivileged society.

Apart from fundraising, SkyWorld understands that constant reminders are important to encourage the nation to stand united in fighting Covid-19. The team has launched a series of awareness campaigns to educate and remind the public on the precautionary measures to stop the spread of COVID-19 and practice good personal hygiene to protect themselves and their families. Impactful creative videos were crafted internally and launched through its social media platforms. These videos were also widely shared via WhatsApp and have gained great response from the public. Through their CSR arm, SkyWorld Cares, SkyWorld continues to plan for future CSR initiatives. They aim to change the lives of the underprivileged society through enhancing the living experience of communities. In their pipeline are plans to encourage better literacy and education, promote better health and wellbeing, reduce poverty, improve community infrastructure and provide financial support to the needy.

Contributing to the Property Development Industry

Since their inception in 2008, SkyWorld has made – and continues – to make their mark in the Malaysian property development industry.

With their commitment to product innovation, SkyWorld has introduced many new features and facilities to their developments. Among the most prominent enhancements to their sky living experience is Malaysia’s First Infinity Loop Pool and Triplex Sky Gym and Sky Lounge at Bennington Residences. SkyVogue Residences is the very first residential building in the country to use the Destination Control System (DCS) for the lifts and is future proof as it is equipped with a Seamless Mobile Access System (SMAS) for easy access without the need of a physical card.

That’s not all, most of its developments incorporate an Automated Waste Control System (AWCS); a concealed pneumatic waste conveying mechanism that eliminates pest infestations and results in cleaner surroundings, that would boost the health and comfort of occupants.

Also among SkyWorld’s biggest contributions to the Malaysian property development scene is the SkyAwani series of developments and the township developments of SkyArena and SkySanctuary.

The SkyAwani series is part of SkyWorld’s CSR initiative that has made positive headlines and cemented its position as the must-own starter homes for first time home buyers – given its extraordinary value of good price, practical layout, full-fledged condominium facilities and quality workmanship.

The townships of SkyArena and SkySanctuary, on the other hand, have earned a name for active living and being the first nature-inspired townships in Malaysia where residents have their very own private central park right at their doorstep.

SkyWorld is a strong believer in quality, as they believe that quality is a fundamental right of every homeowner. To deliver on their Brand Promise “You can now Own a Quality Home & Living,” every one of their projects are QLASSIC certified – a trusted quality assessment by CIDB.

In year 2020, SkyWorld has achieved remarkable milestones. 2 of its projects have scored the highest QLASSIC in the nation; SkyLuxe On The Park achieved 85% in the High-Rise Residential category whereas SkyAwani 2 Residence scored 79% in the Residensi Wilayah category, while the average QLASSIC score in Malaysia was at 63%.

SkyWorld’s Promise to Property Buyers

The SkyWorld brand was born from their belief in a culture of excellence, built with quality in mind. Their belief in ‘Quality’ is their key differentiator from other property developers. SkyWorld has invested RM3.8 million in Malaysia’s first-of-its-kind Quality Centre as their commitment to quality.

Through the SkyWorld Quality Centre, they have trained their internal staffs to raise the bar on building excellence. Staff members are required to attend theoretical and practical QLASSIC training every 6 months from qualified QLASSIC trainers and assessors from CIDB. The passing rate is a minimum of 75%.

Staff members are also required to learn compliance and non-compliance standard workmanship, and how to handle inspection tools. These members are given a full set of tools for their daily inspection after they are trained.

In further fulfilling their promise of excellence, SkyWorld has also designed its own Inspection & Test Plan. All Inspector of Works are trained and are familiarized with SkyWorld's inspection and test criteria.

In an amalgamation of excellence, the SkyWorld Quality Centre is also where SkyWorld welcomes their valued homebuyers, prospective buyers, and the public to educate them on how to pay attention to details that matter. Visit www.skyworld.my for more info.
