One One Eight is not just a lucky number in the Chinese culture, but it is also a collection of Small Office Home Office (SoHo) concept suites at Island Plaza in Tanjung Tokong, Penang. Developed by Omega Moments, this freehold property was remodelled from the previous Island Plaza Tower lots. The beautifully refurbished One One Eight are well connected by the main road Jalan Tanjung Tokong outside their SoHos, that connect to Jalan Kelawei, Jalan Bagan Jermal and also directly to Gurney Drive. Public transportation is available at Jalan Tanjung Tokong as it is a heavily travelled road. Located near the sea, One One Eight is a 12-storey building that comprises 106 commercial units. Some of these designer commercial suites also have direct sea fronting, which gives the unit a higher value and of course, better view. With an average of 8 units per floor, the built-up of the suites range between 484 sf to 1,162 sf. Each unit has 1 to 3 bedrooms, depending on the built-up of the unit. All units have 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom layouts except for Type G, which has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There are 8 types of SoHo units to choose from with different sizes and layouts. Type A units are sized between 785 sf - 850 sf, Type B units range from 613 sf to 785 sf, Type C units are sized at 527 sf, Type D at 613 sf, Type E at 581 sf, Type F at 656 sf, while Type G units are the largest at 1,162 sf. Type H is the smallest at 484 sf. As for the facilities, One One Eight does not come with an Olympic-sized swimming pool, but it does come with one that is fairly sized as well as a jacuzzi, though not offering as many facilities as other residential condominiums. That being said, residents will feel like they’re living on top of a shopping mall as the ground floors are retail shops with tenants like Cold Storage supermarket, Coffee Bean café, nail spas, beauty salons, restaurants and more. Talk about convenience at your doorstep. All in all, One One Eight may not be suitable for those who are looking for tranquillity. However, if you are looking for comfort and practicality, these SoHo units could be considered. The lowest selling price for these units are at RM680,000 and above, depending on the built-up.
