Taman Belibis is a residential neighbourhood located in Simpang Ampat, Seberang Perai. It comprises residential properties like freehold single-storey and double-storey terrace houses, in addition to double-storey shop lots on the outer edge of the neighbourhood. As the neighbourhood is just adjacent to Jalan Permatang Tinggi, the federal trunk road passing through Simpang Ampat, transportation is very convenient, be it by the Rapid Penang buses 801 and 802, or by cars. The neighbourhood’s location no doubt contributes to the business of the shops here, as they can be seen from the main road. One advantage of staying in Taman Belibis is its proximity to the Bukit Minyak industrial area and the Batu Kawan Science Park – less than 15 minutes to each – where the factories of many major brands are situated. IKEA Batu Kawan, when it opens in 2018, will be about the same distance from the neighbourhood as these industrial areas. As with other amenities like mini markets, sundry shops and stores selling household items, schools are also easy to find in the vicinity of Taman Belibis. Within a radius of 1 to 3km, one can find the schools SK Taman Merak, SMK Simpang Ampat, SMK Bandar Tasek Mutiara, GEMS International School Pearl City and Kolej Komuniti Simpang Ampat. The Second Penang Bridge is just about 15km from Taman Belibis, giving residents access to even more industrial areas on the mainland, as well as more shopping, food and beverage, and recreational facilities. Less than 5km (or about 10 minutes without any traffic congestion), one can also reach the North-South Expressway (NSE), from which you can travel north to Perlis and Kedah, or southwards to Kuala Lumpur and all the way to Singapore.
