Perda Timur is a neighbourhood of residential and commercial properties located in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. Real estate in the area include terrace homes, shop lots, office units and factories. The terrace homes come in two varieties, which are either country-style or more baroque homes with ornate mouldings on their facades. Both types are 2 storeys in height, with the country-inspired homes appearing to have been built a longer while back compared to the baroque homes. The shop offices are also 2 storeys in height, with most catering to industrial companies. Amenities within Perda Timur are aplenty given the many businesses within the commercial lots. Eateries, convenience stores, banks and so on can be found within the neighbourhood. The KPJ Penang Specialist Hospital is also just a short drive away while schools in the area include SMK Permatang Rawa. There is also the Mydin Mall Bukit Mertajam and Megamall Pinang just minutes away. Perda Timur is located just off Jalan Muthu Palaniappan, which links to Jalan Baru, enabling a short drive of about 10 minutes to the first Penang bridge. The North-South Expressway (NSE) is also easily accessible from Perda Timur.
