The Genting Group has announced the temporary stop of their services in both Malaysia and the United States (US) until 31st March 2020, in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
They will be ceasing operations at their casino in Resorts World Genting (RWG), Resorts World Awana, Resorts World Langkawi, and Resorts World Kijal until 31st March 2020. This closure is inclusive of all hotel facilities, theme parks, shopping malls, F&B outlets, attractions, and retail outlets.
Only the essentials such as the clinics, utilities, security, and the Fire and Rescue Department will remain operating during this period. All prior reservations by guests have been terminated, and guests may request either a refund or a change in their reservation dates.
GenM operations in Malaysia will resume on 1st April 2020.
Meanwhile in the US, GenM has declared a closure of their casinos Resorts World Casino New York City (RWNYC) and Resorts World Catskill (RWC), until further notice. This decision was made after their discussion with New York officials, and their partners at the New York Hotel Trades Council. This decision was made in an effort to protect their workers, patrons, and the community.
Of the other operations that GenM has a hand in includes over 40 casinos, including Resorts World Birmingham in the United Kingdom; the Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore, and Resorts World Bimini in the Bahamas.
