UEM Sunrise Berhad (“UEM Sunrise” or the “Company”), one of Malaysia’s leading property developers, has on Monday announced the appointment of Sufian Abdullah as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective 2 February 2021.

UEM Sunrise Chairman of the Board of Directors Dato’ Noorazman Abd Aziz said, “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Sufian Abdullah as the Company’s new CEO. His appointment comes at an exciting time for the Company as we embark on a bold vision and an ambitious agenda even as the country faces uncertain economic conditions and with the property sector still responding to some unique challenges. His background as an architect, and competencies and passion in the property development sector are a tremendous asset to our Company and the Board looks forward to working closely with Sufian as he takes leadership of UEM Sunrise. Sufian Abdullah, age 46, is currently the Chief Executive Officer of KWEST Sdn Bhd, the property arm of KWAP. He brings with him over 20 years of experience in the property development and real estate industry.

He is also a trained architect with a hands-on track record in urban design and High-Performance Built Environments, as well as extensive corporate exposure, he has held key positions in Sime Darby Property and Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan).
