Desa Pinang 2 is a high density and low-cost residential apartment situated in Jelutong, Penang. The flat was completed in 2009 and was developed by Jelutong Development, a subsidiary of the renowned IJM Land Berhad.
The residence consists of 2 buildings, which are 22 storeys and 12 storeys in height respectively. The 22-storey building has a total of 600 units with a layout of 2 bedrooms and a single bathroom. Each unit has a built-up size of 620 sf.
Meanwhile, the 12-storey building consists of 300 units with a standard layout of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The built-up space for the units is 540 sf.
Due to its low-cost concept, Desa Pinang 2 only offers a number of facilities to its residents, mainly a covered parking lot. Besides that, other facilities include a community hall, a playground and 24-hour security.
The property is situated in a rather strategic location. Several amenities are just within a short drive from Desa Pinang 2. For grocery, residents have the choices of a Tesco hypermarket or the E-Gate commercial hub, which are only 10 minutes away. On top of that, a number of shopping spots are just a little further, such as 1st Avenue, Prangin Mall and Sunshine City.
The residence also has a couple of markets nearby such as The Pattani Road Market and Perak Road Market. Furthermore, a number of hospitals are also within close proximity, such as the Penang General Hospital, Island Hospital and Lam Wah Ee Hospital.
Desa Pinang 2 has a number of schools within its vicinity. Residents may send their children to schools like SJK(C) Moh Ghee, SK Jelutong, SJK Kheng Tan and SJK(T) Jalan Sungai.
The property is well-located. A short drive will take residents to Georgetown via the many roads and lanes nearby. The Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway and Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah on the other hand, will take them to the other parts of the island.
Unfortunately, no public transport is available in the area. The Macallum Street Ghaut is the nearest bus stop from Desa Pinang 2.
