Teratai Idaman is a residential development in the township of Bandar Cassia in Batu kawan, Penang. Completed in 2011, there are a total of 70 units of double-storey terrace homes.

The freehold homes come in spacious sizes and functional layouts, with the standard intermediate units beginning from 1,690 sf. The limited corner units are slightly more sizeable, at 1,730 sf with additional land space. Regardless of the different sizes, each unit comes with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

The mid-range homes of Teratai Idaman are appropriately priced, with units on the subsale market starting from RM420,000. Rental is at monthly rates starting from RM800, which is considerably affordable given their size.

However, Teratai Idaman is not gated nor guarded, while the only facility offered is a children’s playground. Fortunately, Bandar Cassia and Batu Kawan are fast-changing, offering a range of amenities. Basic amenities like convenience stores and eateries can be found along Jalan Bukit Tambun. The Design Village Premium Brand Outlet Mall which opened in late 2016 also offers cafes and retail outlets. There are schools in the vicinities, namely SK Batu Kawan, SJK (T) Ladang Batu Kawan, and SRJK (C) Keng Koon.

Teratai Idaman is located conveniently within reach of the North-South expressway (NSE), where the second Penang bridge is just about 15 minutes away. With that, the town of Bayan Lepas is another 20 minutes from there. The NSE also leads north to Simpang Ampat, Bukit Mertajam, and eventually Seberang Perai.
