About Bukit Gambier

Properties for Sale in Bukit Gambier

Bukit Gambier is one of the districts of Penang, located on the island itself almost after the bridge. It is alternatively known as Bukit Gambir, and neighbours Bukit Jambul on its south, Gelugor to its east and Jelutong to the north. This township is considered to be one of the newer districts in town, and extends from the Island Glades all the way to Sungai Nibong Kecil.

Established in the early 2000s, Bukit Gambier is known primarily for its residential neighbourhoods, which are desirable for being situated on elevated land. Many of the high rises here boast views of either the mountains or the seas of Penang. Some of the newer developments in this township are Nadayu 290, Sunway Bukit Gambier and Arte S.

Bukit Gambier is served by the public busses Rapid Penang 301 and 302, which travels along the main trunk road of Bukit Gambier - Jalan Bukit Gambir which connects to Jalan Tun Dr Awang, Jalan Yap Chor Ee and Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah. The Penang Bridge is approximately only 10 minutes away, and the Penang Mainland is 35 minutes away in clear traffic.

Some of the major economic factors of Bukit Gambier is the University of Science of Malaysia (USM), which the university campus itself takes up a large parcel of land. Residents of Bukit Gambier enjoy their very own neighbourhood hypermarket - Tesco Extra.

With Penang being a tourist attraction in itself, Bukit Gambier has its fair share of attractions. There is the Bukit Gambir Waterfall located behind the Mutiara Indah Apartment. This waterfall has many local visitors, but is fenced off to prevent children from getting into accidents. The waterfall is about 25 metres high in height, and is said to keep the apartment’s car park wet.

The other tourist attraction in Bukit Gambier attracts many more tourists. It is the Nan Tien Gong temple, a temple that is dedicated to Tua Pek Kong, the Taoist god of prosperity. While this temple is not as famous as some of the other temples in Penang, it nevertheless draws a steady crowd.

Living in Bukit Gambier will indeed provide residents a convenient lifestyle, as it is a fully self-sufficient township.
