Damansara Jaya is considered to be a very small and old locality, developed in the 70s. The entire residential area in Damansara Jaya consists of only landed properties; of bungalows and semi-detached homes.
The populace here are generally of the old and dignified, while the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful with there being not much development. The only construction going on within the area is the building of a new shopping mall on the premises of what was once the infamous Atria Shopping Centre.
The majority of the residents who live in Damansara Jaya are of the Chinese and Malay ethnic group, mostly of the middle to upper income group with many of them having stayed in this area for a good number of years.
Prices of property here have always been on the increasing side due to its popular location, and its good connectivity to various highways. Traffic congestion is however a woe of the residents, a backlash of being located adjacent to the Damansara - Puchong Highway and the Sprint Highway.
