Neighbourhood Review

Putra Heights is residential township located in Subang Jaya, Selangor that was first unveiled to the world in 1999 by one of the country’s leading developer, Sime Darby. Built upon 1,796 acres of land, Putra Heights is a township of homes that cater to all walks of lives.

Although deemed to be located in a rather secluded location, Putra Heights is only within a short drive to Subang Jaya and popular shopping malls such as Main Place at USJ 21 and One City.

Putra Heights’s neighbouring townships are UEP Subang Jaya and Puchong, both of which are a stone’s throw away hence residents will also be within a short driving distance of many other choice entertainment outlets.

What appeals to the buyers of Putra Heights is that although it is centrally located, Putra Heights is still a relatively calm and quiet neighbourhood that gives the illusion of being secluded from the world.

While the newer and upcoming segments of Putra Heights caters to those of the upper income group with its luxury condominiums, villas, link houses, semi-detached and bungalows, numbering amongst the original developments in this township are also a significant number of affordable homes which cater to those from the middle income group.

While Putra Heights is well connected by a variety of major highways, residents of this township will find getting to the city even more convenient with the upcoming MRT line, which will connect Putra Heights to Kelana Jaya while having an interchange to Ampang.

Consumer Price Index

This is a representation of Selangor Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the year of 2011 - 2015

Did you know?

A consumer price index (CPI) measures changes in the price level of a market basket of consumer goods and services purchased by households. (Wikipedia)

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) line shows an increment in prices of essential goods on a yearly basis, while the Percentage Changes line shows the level of changes in price increments over the years. For example, a dip in the CPI line may indicate a low level of price increment as compared to the previous year while a surge in CPI line shows a high level of price increment as compared to the previous year.

The above graph shows 1.644% of price changes in essential goods such as rice, meat and tobacco between the years 2011 and 2012, while increasing in difference to 2.093% in 2013. Prices of essential goods then increasing to 3.448% in the year 2014 while surging by 2.523% in 2015.

While the prices of essential goods have shown a variation in the Percentage Changes, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) on the other hand indicates a reality of ever increasing prices in essential goods with increments between the years 2011 - 2015 at 102.7 in 2011, 105.1 in 2012, 107.3 in 2013, 111.0 in 2014, 113.8 in 2015.

Love this neighborhood. Very self sustainable. Peaceful township, away from the USJ traffic. Also very accessible and close to the airport.

Although quite a distance from city centre, this place is developing, property prices are also comparably lower than matured areas such as USJ, Subang Jaya or PJ. New home owners should take a look here.
