Bukit Jalil is a large suburb located beside the heavily populated township of Puchong. This area offers landed property along with many condominiums, largely tenanted by the middle to upper middle income group. The majority of the residents within this area are of the Chinese and Malay ethnic group.

The location of Bukit Jalil is an ideal one, being connected via many highways. As such, development is extremely heavy in the area, with most of the developments targeted towards the middle and upper middle income group.

Traffic congestion is however a major issue during peak hours, as the throngs of residents from Puchong share the same access route. Bukit Jalil however remains a popular investment area with many more developments including shopping malls in the pipeline.

Consumer Price Index

This is a representation of Kuala Lumpur Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the year of 2011 - 2015

Did you know?

A consumer price index (CPI) measures changes in the price level of a market basket of consumer goods and services purchased by households. (Wikipedia)

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) line shows an increment in prices of essential goods on a yearly basis, while the Percentage Changes line shows the level of changes in price increments over the years. For example, a dip in the CPI line may indicate a low level of price increment as compared to the previous year while a surge in CPI line shows a high level of price increment as compared to the previous year.

The above graph shows 1.363% of price changes in essential goods such as rice, meat and tobacco between the years 2011 and 2012, while increasing in difference to 1.633% in 2013. Prices of essential goods then increasing to 3.308% in the year 2014 while surging by 3.019% in 2015.

While the prices of essential goods have shown a variation in the Percentage Changes, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) on the other hand indicates a reality of ever increasing prices in essential goods with increments between the years 2011 - 2015 at 102.7 in 2011, 104.1 in 2012, 105.8 in 2013, 109.3 in 2014, 112.6 in 2015.

I've lived in Bukit Jalil for 20+ years and I've lived about 20+ years as well. Growing up around the are one of the biggest changes is the building of Paradigm 2 and Pavilion 2 mega-shopping malls and mixed developments.
Also there are three new LRT extensions... See More
in the region, and this has caused massive jam in the area especially during peak hours (9am/ 5 to 7pm). However there are many amenities and Bukit Jalil is quite accessible to different parts of KL. Safety is average, slight increase in foreign workers and students.

This place is not too bad.. the stadium is on the outskirts hence the nightmare. The inside places are good especially near the Exsim developments. Very beautiful products and excellent architecture. I can see this place in a few years from now. There are still... See More
many low cost homes nearby however, quite an eyesore.

I've only ever had to go to Bukit Jalil for concerts and football matches at the stadium so the only thing I disliked about the area is the traffic. No matter how early you are, or whichever day it is, traffic is still bad. Every time I'm there, it's a standstill.... See More
I should try going there on weekends, just to see what traffic's like then.
