Neighbourhood Review


Dutamas is an affluent integrated development located close to several other well known places such as Kenny Hills, Kenny Heights and Mont Kiara. The new King’s Palace is also located within a short drive away and one of the main attractions of Dutamas is Publika, a Small office Home office (SoHo) themed development.

Similar to its neighbourhood, Dutamas offers residential areas that caters to those belonging to the upper income bracket. Within its area lies amenities such as a shopping mall, offices, schools and several commercial areas.

Additionally, Dutamas will also be a host to the upcoming KL Metropolis, an integrated commercial area set to be completed by the year 2025. The upcoming MRT project is also scheduled to stop by here and the upcoming projects within KL Metropolis will be designed to meet the Green Building Index (GBI).

As Dutamas is consistently facing development, traffic conditions within the area is starting to rise although it has not reached the point where it is constantly congested within its premises. However, overdevelopment along the Jalan Dutamas Raya has caused residents here to face terrible congestions during rush hours.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) line shows an increment in prices of essential goods on a yearly basis, while the Percentage Changes line shows the level of changes in price increments over the years. For example, a dip in the CPI line may indicate a low level of price increment as compared to the previous year while a surge in CPI line shows a high level of price increment as compared to the previous year.

The above graph shows 1.363% of price changes in essential goods such as rice, meat and tobacco between the years 2011 and 2012, while increasing in difference to 1.633% in 2013. Prices of essential goods then increasing to 3.308% in the year 2014 while surging by 3.019% in 2015.

While the prices of essential goods have shown a variation in the Percentage Changes, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) on the other hand indicates a reality of ever increasing prices in essential goods with increments between the years 2011 - 2015 at 102.7 in 2011, 104.1 in 2012, 105.8 in 2013, 109.3 in 2014, 112.6 in 2015.

How's the traffic in the morning? I heard the congestion can get quite bad in the morning, with a mixture of traffic from Kepong going to Bangsar/PJ via Dutamas, and also the French International School being at the end of the road,... See More
forcing the school traffic to flow back down the same street.
