In 2012, Dato' Yap founded M101 Holdings Sdn Bhd, which is also known as Meridian 101 Degree that named after Malaysia's coordinates. Before the formation of M101, the founder has been involved in the real estate industry for a good numbers of years.

The decision to enter the market officially as a developer materialized when the founder sees the opportunity for further growth in development after the market rebounded in 2010.
