Kuchai Lama, off the Old Klang Road, is one of the older thoroughfares in KL. Once a mostly industrial landscape; with the Ajinomoto factory in residence and a sawmill where the current Pearl International Hotel and Mall is, it is now a fast developing suburb given its proximity to the city centre and also the affordable property prices.
The Kuchai Lama area is going through a renaissance of sorts in the last decade; with an upgrade in infrastructure, multiple high rise developments and the conversion of formerly industrial land into residential/commercial property.
Currently serviced by only a KTM station, it is set to welcome 2 MRT stations in 2022. The area is also well connected to major highways and connecting roads, via Old Klang road.
