Given that the Simpang Ampat area is mostly industrial, there are few schools around. The nearest schools to the neighbourhood are SJK (C) True Light, and SMK Permai Indah, while more can be found in the Bukit Mertajam town not too far off.

The town of Bukit Mertajam is about 15 minutes north via Jalan Bukit Tengah, while Seberang Perai and the first Penang bridge are just a little further up. In the opposite direction, Jalan Permatang Tinggi leads to the town of Batu Kawan as well as access to the North-South Expressway (NSE) and the second Penang bridge.
