The highly anticipated MRT 2 line which connects Sungai Buloh to Putrajaya, will bring renewed connectivity to Sungai Buloh. There are also plans for the MRT line to connect directly to the High Speed Rail (HSR) which will see Singapore being a mere 90 minutes’ train ride away! SqWhere offers a unique opportunity to live conveniently within reach of unsurpassed accessibility and allow Malaysia’s grand scheme of connectivity be a part of your daily living.

An Overview

Set to transform the skyline of Sungai Buloh, Selangor, SqWhere will tower over the town, with a 31-storey complex housing 302 SoVo units and a 27-storey block which will hold 255 serviced apartments and 44 retail offices.

The serviced residences at SqWhere is the final phase of the ambitious project by Selangor Dredging Berhad (SDB) Properties, which saw an exceptional response to the SoVo and retail offices in the beginning phases.

Leveraging on the increased accessibility that Sungai Buloh will enjoy once the MRT is completed, SqWhere will have a 75 meter link bridge which connects SqWhere directly to an MRT station.

Growing with you, your family and your business

Versatility is the most essential component of SqWhere, with each serviced home designed for absolute functionality and flexibility to meet the everyday needs of individuals, families, and their personal career growth.

Looking to buy your first home but want it to be versatile enough for when you find “the one” and start a family? The 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom serviced home is perfect for individuals and small families. Need to work from home but want a quiet space to yourself? The Type A dual-entry serviced residence has a separate studio where you can work in peace.

SqWhere is the place for all, where you can grow and expand while being able to remain grounded with the range of functional spaces.

Functional, aesthetically pleasing and enduring

Staying true to the design philosophy of functionality, the residential units at SqWhere are no frills, with relatively open spaces, in line with its rectilinear concept, to ensure no precious space is squandered by any obstructing columns or beams. The concept has also enabled natural lighting to illuminate the interiors while air can also flow smoothly, providing for an increased sense of spaciousness.

Type A of the serviced residences are the best illustration of this emphasis on function, designed with dual-key entry, whereby there is a separate entrance to an independent studio space. The Type A home is ideally made for those who want to have their own workspace at home, while ensuring utmost privacy and peace while working.

Aside from being functional, the units at SqWhere also aim to bring delight to your senses. Finished with quality fittings and appliances like kitchen cabinets, hood and hob and even a fridge, the homes are almost move-in-ready and are built to last while being aesthetically pleasing. You can feel it with the touch of the smooth walls and the sturdy floors, as well as see it in the intricately-designed mosaic tiles in the bathrooms.

Living up to SDB Properties’ high standards, the entire SqWhere structure is also earthquake resistant. Though earthquakes are uncommon in Peninsula Malaysia, it is comforting to know that if the building is designed to withstand an earthquake, it can definitely handle anything that the country’s tropical climate throws at it.

Home for all seasons

The serviced residences at SqWhere is flexible enough to grow with you and your family, with a wide selection of home types and layouts. Gone are the days when only landed homes could provide enough space for multiple generations in a family. There are spacious homes at SqWhere which can do just that, while offering views of the city skyline and indulgent facilities.

The serviced apartments begin from a moderately spacious 1,055 sf with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. These Type E units are ideal for individuals or just-married couples who are buying their first home together. The 2 bedrooms are just nice, with one of the other room being able to function as an office or transformed into a nursery or children’s bedroom later on. The units also come with 2 parking spaces, which is a much-needed feature for today’s individuals and families.

The largest of the variants are Type A and Type B, with built-up spaces of 2,476 sf and 2,174 sf respectively. These homes offer 4+1 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms with an impressive allocation of 4 parking spaces for Type A homes and 3 for Type B units. These 2 types of homes appeal to larger families where 3 generations can be able to live comfortably together. You may not even have to brave traffic when visiting parents for the holidays as they could be staying with you! (Type A homes feature the dual-key entry to the living space and separate studio, as aforementioned.)

Type C1, Type C2, and Type D units are also ample in space, with sizes of 1,841 sf for Type C1 units, 1,894 sf for Type C2 homes and 1,507 sf for the Type D ones. These 3 variants have 3+1 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, which is more than enough usable space for an individual or married couple and is just large enough to accommodate a small family. These 3 unit types come with 3 allocated parking spots.

It is apparent that the developers of SqWhere understand the needs of individuals and families in today’s Malaysia. Knowing that homes should remain functional throughout our life time, the thoughtful and versatile SqWhere serviced residences can definitely adapt accordingly. The generous allocation of parking spaces also addresses the long-standing issue of high-rise properties not providing enough parking spaces. With that, residents need not go through the headache of having to park their car beyond the property gates.

Enchanting elements: the facilities at SqWhere

Perched 8 levels above is the 1.7-acre forest deck, where a myriad of delightful facilities await. The gem of it all is the salt-water hydrotherapy pool, where water jets and reflexology features offer a relaxing and therapeutic experience. SqWhere is one of the few residences in the Klang Valley offering such luxuriant features.

Apart from that, there is also a lap pool and reflective pool, where residents can enjoy a quick dip and swim daily reps to melt the stress away or workout at the floating gym overlooking the tree canopy. The family-centric development also has fun features installed for the family, with a children’s pool, play area and a wet play area even parents would feel like playing in.

Surrounded by the hydrotherapy pool, lap pool and children’s pool will be the Garden SqWhere, which is literally a square edifice of landscaped greenery. Encircled by water, the concept is definitely rare, with these elements of greenery and the soothing effect of water. The SqWhere Garden acts as a spot where residents can go to find some calm respite, demonstrating the development’s concept of having nature close to home.

Another feature worth noting is the secret passage. Despite it’s name being “secret” this element is a specialty to shout about. The concept is a passageway which leads to the Garden SqWhere, shrouded by lush greenery. The path intends to allow residents to lose themselves as they stroll along the serene route, feeling quiet isolation from the bustle beyond the sanctuary. Though garden paths are not uncommon in high-rise developments these days, the idea of walking along a “secret” path, feeling like the only person who knows this special way, is a rather enchanting notion.

Being a place where business is also a priority, features like a function room are also available, where residents can organise gatherings. The garden lounge and open lawns also make for more relaxed spaces to reflect, work individually or maybe even just enjoy an unconventional brainstorming session surrounded by greenery.

The established Sungai Buloh and its newfound accessibility

Sungai Buloh has long been a popular choice for many working in the Klang Valley to live in, given its ease of accessibility to other towns and cities nearby as well as the many established commercial hubs and shopping malls within reach of it.

Accessibility to and from Sungai Buloh has mainly been through roads like the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), the North-South Expressway (NSE), the Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP), the Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2), SPRINT Expressway, and Guthrie Corridor Expressway, while public transportation was limited to the Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) and public busses.

The newfound accessibility enabled by the MRT project has opened up a myriad of possibilities and opportunities, with SqWhere fully making the most out of it with the dedicated 75-meter pedestrian bridge to the Kampung Selamat MRT station.

The 51km Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT line which is set to begin operations by end of 2016, will further compliment the development which is already within reach of established amenities. Sungai Buloh enjoys effortless ease of access to Kota Damansara, Mutiara Damansara and Bandar Utama via the many main routes within its vicinities, such as Persiaran Surian, Persiaran Jati and Persiaran Sungai Buloh.

The link bridge from SqWhere to the MRT station, gives residents an extra edge, providing an alternative to the traffic jams when commuting to these locations. Next year will signal the full completion of MRT 1 Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line, which will give access to Sunway Giza, The Curve, and 1 Utama as well as lead straight into the heart of the Golden Triangle in Kuala Lumpur.

Convenience and luxury are the forefronts of SDB Properties, the reputable developer behind SqWhere. Despite starting out in the tin mining industry during its inception in 1962 as Selangor Dredging Berhad, SDB Properties has come a long way to now becoming one of the most revered developers in Malaysia, with a strong reputation for their innovative design and concepts to the luxurious touches that their developments bring to everyday life.

SDB only has one past development in Batu Ferringhi, Penang and the rest in Klang Valley. Wonder if I can see them in action down south Johor?
